We need installers who check the subfloor first and then lay a floor with no gaps, squeaks or waves.

What you will do

  • Laying laminate and LVT, including glue-down
  • Glued parquet and engineered boards, herringbone where specified
  • Underlay, vapour barrier, transitions between floor finishes
  • Fitting skirting, including shadow-gap and paint-grade
  • Undercutting door frames and neat junctions with tiles

What we expect from you

  • At least 2 years of experience, photos of floors you have laid
  • Your own tools are required: mitre saw, jigsaw, level, moisture meter
  • Knowing manufacturers' requirements for subfloors and gaps
  • Laying to the project plan: direction, setting-out, thresholds

How the site inspector accepts the work

  • Subfloor within 2 mm over 2 m before laying, moisture within the manufacturer's limit
  • 8 – 10 mm expansion gap at walls for floating floors, covered by skirting
  • No gaps between boards, no squeaks or deflection underfoot
  • Direction and setting-out match the project, thresholds flush

Payment by stages

Finish a stage — we check it — we pay right away. No waiting for the whole project. Piece-rate pay; rates are discussed individually.

We pay only for accepted work. Rework is at your own expense. Your own tools are required; we buy the materials.

FAQ

Who prepares the subfloor?

A separate tradesperson does the screed. You check it before laying, and if it is out of tolerance you tell the site manager rather than laying over it.

Do you supply the flooring?

Yes, the company buys the flooring and underlay and delivers them before the stage starts.

How is flooring paid?

Piece-rate, once the stage is accepted by technical supervision. Rates are discussed individually.
