Custom sliding-door and built-in wardrobes in Batumi

A floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobe takes only 50 – 65 centimetres of depth from a room, yet holds more than a couple of freestanding wardrobes. We make custom sliding-door and built-in wardrobes in Batumi for a specific wall or niche: we fit filler strips to the curvature of the walls, close the gap at the ceiling and adjust the doors on site. The price includes the boards, hardware, interior fittings and installation.

What it costs and how the area is calculated

The area of a wardrobe equals the width multiplied by the height of the front. For example, a wardrobe 2 m wide in a room with a 2.8 m ceiling gives 5.6 m² of front. Prices per square metre:

• sliding-door wardrobe — from 650 ₾;
• built-in wardrobe with hinged doors — from 700 ₾;
• niche wardrobe without side panels — from 550 ₾.

For the example above, a sliding-door wardrobe will come to from 3 640 ₾. Shelves, rails and basic drawers are already included in the price. Only an extra soft-close drawer, from 60 ₾, and interior LED lighting that switches on when the door opens, from 80 ₾, are paid for separately.

Sliding or hinged doors

Sliding doors need no space in front of the wardrobe, so sliding-door wardrobes go into narrow bedrooms, hallways and studios where a passage remains between the bed and the wall. On the other hand, sliding doors overlap one another, so only part of the wardrobe is open at a time, and the system itself needs extra depth for the tracks. Hinged fronts open up the entire contents at once, allow a shallow wardrobe and offer more finish options. We make the final choice at the measurement visit, when the passages and the position of the doors in the room are visible.

Niche wardrobe

If the layout has a niche, side panels and a top are not needed: the walls and ceiling do their job. That is why a niche wardrobe costs less than the others, from 550 ₾ per m². What remains is to fit the fronts precisely to uneven walls, for which we use filler strips.

Interior fittings for your things

We draw the interior layout around what will be stored: long dresses and coats, shirts, folded jumpers, shoes, bed linen. In a flat let out on Airbnb and Booking the layout is different: sturdy boards, a minimum of parts that guests can break, and always a place for suitcases so they do not stand in the middle of the room.

Humidity and external walls

In Batumi's humid climate we do not place a wardrobe flush against a cold wall facing the street. We leave a gap behind the back panel for air circulation, otherwise condensation settles there.
