    FAQ

How much does appliance connection cost?

Hob connection is from 60 ₾, an oven from 50 ₾, a dishwasher or washing machine from 40 ₾. A dedicated circuit from the panel is from 120 ₾. You get the price before work starts.

Can I plug a hob into a normal socket?

No. Induction and electric hobs draw a lot of power, and a standard socket and thin cable will overheat. It needs a power outlet or a terminal connection on its own breaker.

Why does the breaker trip when the oven and kettle are on?

The circuit is overloaded — too many high-power appliances on one breaker. The fix is to split them across circuits or run a dedicated circuit from the panel.

Why does water heater wiring matter so much in Batumi?

Most Batumi flats have no central hot water, so it comes from an electric water heater. It runs for hours right next to water, so it needs its own circuit, breaker and RCD.

Do you install appliances or only connect them?

We handle the electrical side: circuit, socket, protection and connection. Water and drain hook-ups for a water heater, washing machine or dishwasher can be done by our plumber on the same visit.

Appliance connection in Batumi: done right the first time

Your new hob has arrived, the water heater is on the wall, the dishwasher is in place. All that is left is to plug it in, and this is exactly where mistakes are most often made. Powerful appliances need their own circuit, their own circuit breaker and the right cable cross-section. That is why appliance connection in Batumi starts not with the socket but with checking the circuit the appliance will run on.

Why you cannot plug everything into an ordinary socket

An induction hob at full power draws more than a standard household socket can handle. It is connected through a power socket or wired directly to terminals with a separate circuit breaker. If you plug the hob into an ordinary socket, the contact will start to heat up, and when all the zones are switched on the protection will trip or, worse, the housing will melt.

It is a similar story with an oven and a kettle on the same circuit. Each one works fine on its own, but together they exceed the breaker's rating and it trips. There is only one solution: split the powerful appliances across different circuits or run a separate circuit from the panel.

Water heater: a special topic for Batumi

As a rule, Batumi buildings have no central hot water. It is heated by an electric water heater, which runs almost round the clock and sits in the bathroom, next to water. Hence two requirements: a separate circuit with its own breaker and an RCD that will cut the power if current leaks to the casing. This is not something to save money on.

    Washing machine in the bathroom

In small apartments the washing machine is often placed in the bathroom, next to the shower. Plugging it in through an extension lead or a multi-plug adaptor is dangerous here: splashes, a metal casing, water in the hose. It needs a separate earthed socket protected against moisture and an RCD on the circuit. Then, if the insulation breaks down, the power will be cut before anyone touches the casing.

    Connection prices

    • Hob: from 60 ₾.
    • Built-in oven: from 50 ₾.
    • Water heater: from 50 ₾.
    • Dishwasher or washing machine: from 40 ₾.
    • New circuit from the panel to the installation point: from 120 ₾.

You can bring your own cable, sockets, breakers and RCD or have them supplied as part of the estimate. The electrician will give you the exact price once he has seen the panel and the circuit.

    How the connection works

    1. You tell us which appliance needs connecting and attach photos of the panel and the recess for it.
    2. The electrician checks the cable cross-section, the breaker and the socket, and agrees the price with you.
    3. He switches off the power, lays a new circuit if needed and connects the appliance.
    4. He tests it under load and checks that the protection trips, and explains which breaker is responsible for what.

We come out the same day and give a one-year guarantee on the connection.

    Water and drainage

The electrician does only the electrical part. The water supply and drain for a water heater, washing machine or dishwasher are done by a plumber. You can call out both tradesmen for one visit so that your appliance is up and running in a single day.

    New appliance? We'll connect it
