When it's time to rewire
- Older building with aluminium wires in the panel
- Sockets and switches get warm or crackle
- Breakers trip when you switch appliances on
- Flickering lights or a smell of burnt insulation
- Not enough circuits for AC units, water heater and hob
- Full renovation or layout change
What’s included
- Wiring plan — where sockets, lights and switches go, and which circuits
- Old wiring removal — including aluminium and twisted joints in boxes
- Copper cable of the right size — separate circuits for kitchen, water heater, AC
- Chasing and cable laying — in concrete, brick and aerated block
- Low-voltage — internet and TV to the rooms you need
- Photo report before walls are closed — you see where every cable runs
- Insulation resistance test — every circuit checked after installation

How much does rewiring cost?
Labour is from 40 ₾ per m² of the flat. Old wiring removal is 8 ₾/m², chasing and cable laying is 15 ₾ per metre. We give the exact total after a survey and fix it before work starts.
Can I keep the aluminium wiring?
Older Batumi buildings still have it. Aluminium oxidises over time and holds contacts poorly under modern appliance loads, so during renovation we recommend replacing it with copper.
Can you rewire only part of the flat?
Yes, if the rest is in good condition. We test the circuits and insulation first, then tell you honestly what is worth keeping.
Do I need to be in Batumi during the work?
No. We agree the plan and estimate on WhatsApp or Telegram, send photos as we go and a photo report of hidden work before walls are closed.
Do you connect the flat to the grid and meter?
Grid connection and meter work are done by the power company. We handle everything inside the flat: circuits, boxes and the panel.
Rewiring in Batumi: when it is time and how it is done
Wiring lasts longer than decoration, but not for ever. In buildings from past decades, aluminium still runs through the walls, designed for a light bulb and a fridge rather than an air conditioner in every room, a water heater and an induction hob. In new builds it is a different story: the developer may have laid cable thinner than the real load requires, or used twisted joints where terminals are needed. Rewiring in Batumi solves both problems: your flat gets copper circuits sized for the appliances you actually use.
Why aluminium is best not left in place
An aluminium conductor oxidises over time, the contact in the socket and terminal weakens, and the joint heats up. Under the load of an air conditioner or electric cooker the heating increases, the insulation becomes brittle, and at some point a burning smell appears. Copper conducts current better and holds a more stable contact, so when rewiring we move the flat over to copper cable.
If the wiring is generally sound and the problem is in one room or one circuit, a full rewire may not be necessary. We decide after testing the circuits and measuring the insulation resistance, not by eye.
What the work includes
- Removing the old wiring: from 8 ₾ per m².
- Chasing and laying cable in concrete, brick or aerated block: from 15 ₾ per metre of chase.
- Complete rewiring: from 40 ₾ per m² of flat area.
- Low-voltage lines for internet and TV: from 30 ₾ per point.
- Insulation resistance test: from 100 ₾.
Cable, boxes and circuit breakers are bought separately. The full cost is fixed in the quote after an inspection.
How rewiring goes
- Inspection of the flat and a design: how many circuits, where the sockets go, which appliance is on which circuit.
- An itemised quote.
- Removing the old cables and chasing.
- Laying the new circuits, connecting to the panel.
- Insulation test and handover.
A separate word about concealed work. Before the chases are closed with plaster, you get a photo report showing where each cable runs. A year later, when you need to hang a shelf or a picture, that photo will tell you where not to drill. After installation we hand over a circuit diagram.
If you are not in Batumi
We agree the quote and design by message; you do not need to come to the site. The photos of the concealed work and the final diagram are sent the same way.
Where our area of responsibility ends
The meter and the flat's connection to the city grid are the responsibility of the energy company. We are responsible for everything after the meter: circuits, junction boxes, the panel. New wiring comes with a one-year guarantee.
Let's talk about rewiring
Send us the flat size and a couple of photos of the panel — we'll outline the scope and a rough price.
