How much does a socket cost to install?
A socket or switch into an existing box is from 25 ₾ each, relocation is 45 ₾, a new point with chasing is 60 ₾. Call-out in Batumi is 50 ₾, free for orders from 150 ₾.
Can I have a normal socket in the bathroom?
Better not. In bathrooms we fit weatherproof sockets away from water and protect the circuit with an RCD.
Will a normal socket work on an open balcony in Batumi?
No. Humid sea air and driving rain quickly ruin ordinary outdoor sockets. We fit weatherproof models with a cover and an RCD on the circuit.
Who buys the sockets?
Whatever suits you. You can buy them yourself, or we can bring them and suggest models to match your interior. Labour and materials are priced separately.
Can you add a socket without chasing walls?
Yes, the cable can run in surface trunking if the circuit load allows. For high-power appliances a dedicated circuit from the panel is better.
Socket and switch installation in Batumi: where, how many and which kind
There are almost never enough sockets. The developer fits them to a standard plan, and after a month of living in the apartment you have extension leads behind the sofa, a triple adaptor by the bed and a cable running the length of the hallway to your desk. Socket and switch installation in Batumi solves this problem point by point: we can add a new point, move an existing one or replace outdated fittings with modern ones.
Types of work
- Fitting into an existing back box, when the box is already in the wall: from 25 ₾ each.
- Moving a socket to a new position: from 45 ₾ each.
- A new point with wall chasing and cable laying: from 60 ₾ each.
- A weatherproof socket: from 35 ₾ each.
- A socket with USB or a multi-socket block: from 30 ₾ each.
Fittings, faceplates and cable are not included in these amounts: you can choose them yourself in a shop or leave it to the electrician. We charge 50 ₾ for the call-out, and it is free for orders from 150 ₾.
Where points are usually missing
By the bed you need at least two sockets on each side: phone, lamp and sometimes a humidifier. A USB socket is handy here because it frees up space taken by adaptors. At a workstation people fit a block of three or four sockets for a laptop, a monitor and chargers. In the hallway one point up high is useful for a router or a vacuum cleaner. The kitchen is a separate calculation that depends on the appliances, and it is best worked out together with the furniture plan.
Bathroom and balcony
In Batumi these areas need a special approach. Splashes in the bathroom and sea humidity on the balcony ruin an ordinary socket within a couple of seasons: the contacts oxidise and condensation builds up in the housing. That is why we fit weatherproof models with a lid in these places. On the balcony such a socket withstands rain, and in the bathroom splashes from the shower. The correct way to connect them is through an RCD, which cuts off the circuit if there is a leakage.
Installation steps
- You make a list of points: what to add, what to move, what to replace.
- The electrician gives you the price while nothing has been opened up yet.
- Installation is carried out with the circuit switched off.
- We check every socket with a tester: whether there is voltage and whether the live, neutral and earth are connected correctly.
An electrician will come on the day you call, you pay for what is done, and there is a one-year guarantee.
Better to plan before renovation
If your renovation is still ahead, sketch out the furniture layout and mark where you need sockets and switches. While the walls are not yet finished, any new point costs less than after painting: you will not have to fill the chase again and match the wall colour.
