How much does tiling cost?
Standard floor tiling is from 40 ₾/m², wall tiling 45 ₾/m², large format 120×60 and up 60 ₾/m². That's labour only, materials are extra. You get an exact estimate after a free survey.
Can I book a small job, like replacing a few tiles?
Yes. For small jobs the call-out in Batumi is 50 ₾, free for orders from 150 ₾. Matching old tiles isn't always possible, so keep any spares you have.
Why waterproof if tiles don't let water through?
Water gets through joints and gaps. Without waterproofing it ends up in the wall or with the neighbours below. We always do it in showers and bathrooms.
Anything specific to Batumi?
The climate is humid, so in bathrooms without good extraction grout darkens quickly. For showers and bathrooms we recommend epoxy grout — it doesn't absorb moisture and is easy to clean.
What works best for a rental flat?
For Airbnb and Booking flats, mid-size porcelain and epoxy grout in the bathroom mean less cleaning between guests and a finish that looks new for longer.
Tiling in Batumi: the layout matters more than the tiles
Expensive porcelain stoneware is easily spoilt by a two-centimetre sliver by the front door or next to the bath, exactly where the eye falls first. A good tiler solves this before picking up the tile cutter. That is why we tile in Batumi only to a layout agreed in advance: we work out where the joints will run, where the cuts will go and how the lines on the floor and walls will match. Unavoidable cuts are hidden behind the door, under furniture or in a corner nobody sees.

Tiles, adhesive, primer and grout are not included in these figures: you get a list of them in the estimate before we start.
Large format takes two people
A 120×60 slab is heavy and cracks easily if one person lifts it alone or it is laid on an uneven base. We lay this format in pairs, on adhesive for large-format tiles and with a levelling system that stops neighbouring slabs from ending up with a lip. We join external corners with a mitre instead of plastic trims: the joint is thin and looks like solid stone.
Grout in a seaside climate
Cement grout in a Batumi shower darkens quickly. In humid air the joints hardly ever dry out, and mould settles in the pores. Epoxy grout does not absorb water, does not change colour and cleans with an ordinary cleaner. That is what we recommend for the bathroom and shower, while cement grout is perfectly fine for rooms and the hallway.
Waterproofing before tiling
Tiles themselves do not let water through, but joints and junctions do. So in showers and bathrooms we always apply liquid waterproofing before tiling. We check the base for flatness, prime it and level it if needed. If you are planning a floor-level shower, we form the fall towards the drain in advance so that no puddle collects by the glass screen.
For a rental flat
The most practical choice is medium-format porcelain stoneware with epoxy grout in the bathroom. This finish easily copes with beach sand, suitcase wheels and constant cleaning, and if a tile gets chipped, it is easy to replace just that one.
Speaking of replacement: if you need to relay a few damaged tiles, we will come out for a job that size too. The call-out costs 50 ₾, and if the total order reaches 150 ₾, it is free. A tip for the future: keep a box of leftover tiles after the renovation. A couple of years later it can be impossible to find the same batch and the same shade.
Tiling work comes with a 12-month guarantee, and measuring up and the estimate cost nothing. After grouting we clean the surface and show you the result in person.
