How much does a walk-in closet cost?
A chipboard closet is from 500 ₾ per running metre, with doors from 800 ₾, and a metal-frame system from 350 ₾. Prices include materials, hardware and fitting.
Can you turn a storage room into a closet?
Yes, that's a common job. We measure, suggest a layout and price it by project for your room.
Chipboard or metal frame?
Chipboard looks like built-in furniture and easily takes drawers and doors. A metal frame is cheaper, quicker to fit and easy to rearrange.
Anything specific to Batumi?
In a humid climate a closet needs airflow. We advise against sealing it completely and leave a gap at the outside wall so clothes don't smell damp.
How long does it take?
Usually 2 – 3 weeks after measuring and design sign-off. A metal-frame system can be ready sooner.
Custom walk-in closets in Batumi: from a storage room, a bedroom corner or a separate room
You need a walk-in closet when wardrobes can no longer cope: jackets are piled on a chair, suitcases stand in the hallway and the storage room is crammed with random things. We build custom walk-in closets in Batumi wherever there are at least a couple of metres of free wall or a small windowless room. The price includes the boards, the fittings and assembly with levelling, and the measurement visit is free.
Three options and their prices
- An open system in laminated chipboard with shelves, rails and drawers — from 500 ₾ per linear metre.
- A walk-in closet with hinged or sliding doors — from 800 ₾ per linear metre.
- A lightweight system on a metal frame — from 350 ₾ per linear metre.
LED lighting with a motion sensor is added from 120 ₾: the light comes on as soon as you walk in, and in a windowless closet this noticeably saves time in the mornings. A walk-in closet made from a storage room is priced from a design after measurement, because the shape and size of such spaces always differ.
Laminated chipboard or metal frame
A laminated chipboard carcass looks like a single piece of furniture, and drawers, doors and lighting are easy to add to it. This is the option people choose for a closet that can be seen from the bedroom. A metal frame is cheaper, quicker to install and easy to rearrange: shelves and rails can be moved along the uprights without tools. It works well for a storage room, a flat for rent or when you have not yet decided how you will store your things a year from now.
How to divide up the space
We plan the interior by zones. Long clothes need a rail with plenty of free height, while shirts and jackets are fine with two tiers of rails one above the other. For shoes we set aside sloping or pull-out shelves at the bottom, for underwear drawers at hand height, and for suitcases and seasonal items the top tier. If you need to walk into the closet, we leave a passage between the units where you can comfortably turn round and get changed.
Why walk-in closets in Batumi are not fully enclosed
An enclosed room with no air supply in a humid climate quickly starts to smell damp, and the clothes inside get damp too. That is why we advise leaving the system open or fitting it with grilles, not sealing it off completely, and leaving a gap at the external wall. If the closet is set up in a windowless storage room, it makes sense to plan ventilation before installation.
How the work goes
- Measuring the room and talking about what items will be stored and how many.
- A design with the zone layout and a fixed price including materials.
- Manufacturing the components, usually 2 – 3 weeks; a metal frame is often ready sooner.
- Assembly, fitting the doors and lighting.
- Checking the drawers and doors, cleaning up.
A walk-in closet goes well with built-in sliding wardrobes in the bedroom and a hallway unit with a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe. Our electrician can bring lighting and a socket inside.
