How much does AC installation cost?
Installing a split system up to 3.5 kW with up to 3 m of pipework is from 220 ₾; 5 – 7 kW models are 300 ₾. Relocation is 280 ₾ and removal keeping the refrigerant is 90 ₾. We give the exact price after the survey, before work starts.
Why pump down the refrigerant when moving an AC?
If you simply disconnect the pipes, the refrigerant escapes and air and moisture get in, so you'd need a full recharge. A pump-down keeps it in the outdoor unit, and at the new spot vacuuming the pipework is usually enough.
Can the old pipework be reused after a move?
Sometimes, if the copper is intact and long enough. Re-flaring doesn't always hold, though, so we often replace the pipes. We decide on site and tell you in advance.
Anything specific to Batumi?
Here an AC often cools in summer and heats in winter, as most flats have no central heating, so choose a unit with spare capacity. In the humid seaside climate a solid mount and a proper drain slope matter, and high-rise facade work with rope access is quoted on site.

Air conditioner installation and relocation in Batumi for year-round use
Radiators are the exception rather than the rule in Batumi flats, so a split system here runs on cooling in summer and on heating in winter. Whether it can cope with that depends on the installation. A model sized too tightly will run non-stop on a cold evening and still won't warm the room. That's why we choose the capacity with a margin, mount the bracket with the wind in mind and route the drain with the correct fall.
What installation includes
- Choosing the position for the indoor and outdoor units.
- A connecting line up to three metres long: two insulated copper pipes and a cable between the units.
- A bracket or cage for the outdoor unit on the façade or balcony.
- A drain with a fall so that condensate doesn't sit in the pipe.
- Vacuuming the circuit, releasing the refrigerant and checking all modes.
- Filling the old hole in the wall, cleaning up and showing you how to wash the filters.
Installing a split unit of up to 3.5 kW costs from 220 ₾. For powerful models of 5 – 7 kW we fit a reinforced bracket, and the work starts at 300 ₾. Extending the pipe run is charged from 40 ₾ per metre, a separate cage or bracket from 50 ₾. We vacuum the circuit on every installation, without exception.
Relocation without losing refrigerant
Before removing the unit, the technician pumps all the refrigerant down into the outdoor unit and closes the valves, so the gas stays in the system. If this step is skipped, the refrigerant escapes into the air, moisture and air get into the pipes, and after the move a full regas will be needed. Moving a unit to a new position costs from 280 ₾; simple removal with the refrigerant retained costs from 90 ₾. This comes in handy when you move house, rearrange furniture or if the unit is in the way of finishing work.
Can the old pipe run be kept?
Sometimes, yes: if the copper is intact, without kinks, and long enough to reach the new position. We decide after an inspection, but in practice the pipes often have to be replaced: after removal the copper is frequently dented at the bends.
Installation on a high-rise façade
An outdoor unit on a blank wall on a high floor is installed by an industrial climber. The cost of this work depends on the floor and the access, so we price it on site.
How to prepare for the visit
Clear the section of wall under the indoor unit and move furniture a metre away. If the outdoor unit is going on the balcony, make sure there is access to it. We collect drilling dust with a vacuum cleaner right at the core bit, but it's best to move valuables nearby out of the way.
