How much do smart curtains cost?
A Tuya motor starts from 200 ₾, an Aqara E1 driver for your rail is 360 ₾, installation 120 ₾ per window. A motorised track is 85 ₾ per metre plus 40 ₾ per metre fitting.
Can it be done without replacing the rail?
Often yes: the Aqara E1 fits standard rod or track rails and runs on battery. If your rail isn't suitable, we'll suggest a motorised track.
Do I need a socket by the window?
Not for a battery driver — it's charged every few months. A 220 V motor needs a socket or cable, which we lay in advance during renovation.
Will it handle heavy blackout curtains?
Yes, we choose the motor by weight and length. For very wide windows we fit a track with a stronger motor.
Smart curtains and motorised curtain tracks in Batumi
Floor-to-ceiling windows with a sea view in Batumi's new builds are wonderful right up until lunchtime. Then the sun swings round into the room, and by evening the air conditioner is barely coping. Smart curtains close on their own, on a schedule or triggered by a light sensor, before the air has had time to heat up. For a rental apartment there is another argument too: the guest opens the door, and the curtains are already open and the room is flooded with light.
A motor for your existing curtain rail
You often do not need to replace the rail and curtains. The Aqara Curtain Driver E1 motor, from 360 ₾, fits onto an ordinary pole or track and runs on a built-in battery that lasts several months between charges. A budget alternative is a Tuya Wi-Fi motor from 200 ₾: it connects directly to the router and works without a hub. Installing a motor with calibration costs from 120 ₾ per window. As a guide: one window with an E1 motor, fully fitted, will cost about 480 ₾.
A motorised track for a new renovation
If the renovation is still under way, it is better to fit a motorised curtain track straight away: a track with runners for a motor costs from 85 ₾ per linear metre, and mounting it on the ceiling, the wall or in a stretch ceiling recess from 40 ₾ per metre. A 220 V motor needs a socket or a cable next to the track, and this cable is laid before the finishing. To make such a motor smart, an Aqara controller is added, from 360 ₾.
Heavy curtains and wide windows
Thick blackout curtains for a bedroom weigh noticeably more than sheers, and a wall-to-wall window can stretch five or six metres. We choose the motor according to the weight and length of the curtain. For very wide openings we fit a motorised track with a powerful drive, otherwise the curtains will stop halfway.
Calibration and scenes
After installation we set the end positions and the speed of travel, then connect the curtains to the app and a voice assistant. Scenes cost from 80 ₾: "Morning" gently opens the curtains instead of an alarm clock, "Cinema" closes them with one command, "Leaving" lowers everything as you go out. For an east-facing bedroom, linking to a light sensor is handy: in summer the sun rises from behind the mountains very early, and the curtains stay closed until the alarm goes off. You can control them from your phone, a remote, by voice or with a wall switch.
