How much does a bathroom ceiling cost?

Will mould grow on a stretch ceiling?
PVC doesn't absorb moisture, so mould has little to hold on to on the membrane itself. In humid Batumi an extractor still matters — without one, condensation ends up on walls and tile joints.
Can a stretch ceiling go above the hob?
Yes, if there is a cooker hood and the membrane doesn't overheat. We use LED lights and trim neatly around the hood.
What if the neighbours upstairs flood me?
A PVC membrane holds the water and it can be drained without cuts. Switch off the lights and message us — we come the same day.
How do I reach pipes and meters above the ceiling?
We plan it at the measurement: we leave an access hatch or move valves somewhere reachable.
Stretch ceiling for bathrooms and kitchens in Batumi
Bathrooms and kitchens in Batumi live in a special regime: on top of the sea humidity there is steam from the shower and vapour from the hob. A painted ceiling quickly gets covered in patches in these conditions, and plasterboard soaks up moisture and darkens at the joints. A PVC film stretch ceiling in the bathroom and kitchen does not absorb water, and mould simply has nothing to cling to. But the membrane alone is not enough: without proper ventilation the condensation will just move to the walls and the tile joints.
The fan as an essential part
The most common mistake is to fit a beautiful ceiling and forget about the extractor. Steam after a shower rises, finds no way out and settles on cold surfaces. So in the bathroom we cut an extractor fan straight into the membrane and duct it into the ventilation shaft. We decide where it goes when we measure up, before installation.
Light fittings for wet areas
In the bathroom we use light fittings rated IP44 and above: they withstand splashes and condensation. We mount the fittings on embedded rings so the membrane does not tear around the hole and the fitting holds securely. In the kitchen a ceiling over the hob is possible if there is a cooker hood; there we fit LED light fittings, which run cooler, and we neatly trim around the hood duct with an edging ring.
Access to valves and meters
In bathrooms, pipes, valves and water meters often run just below the ceiling. You cannot seal them in behind the membrane: if there is a leak or a meter needs replacing, you will need access. So when we measure up, we decide where an access hatch is needed, or move the valves to an accessible spot.

The bathroom takes water from the neighbours more often than other rooms. In that case the PVC membrane holds the water back, and we drain it without cutting and return the ceiling to how it was. Switch off the lights in the bathroom and call us; a technician will be with you the same day.
