How much does an AC regas cost?
A refrigerant top-up with pressure check is from 120 ₾. A full recharge with vacuuming is 180 ₾, leak search and repair 100 ₾. Call-out across Batumi is 50 ₾, free for orders from 150 ₾.
Does an AC need regassing every year?
No. It's a sealed system, so a healthy unit doesn't use up refrigerant. If it needs topping up regularly, there's a leak — it should be found, not refilled every season.
Why not just top it up?
Without fixing the leak the gas escapes again and the compressor runs under strain. We find the cause first, then charge.
Which refrigerant do you use?
Whatever is on the unit's rating plate: usually R410A or R32, R22 in older models. Different refrigerants must never be mixed.
Anything specific to Batumi?
ACs here work hard — cooling in summer and often heating in winter, since most flats have no central heating. If you live abroad and rent the flat out, have the pressure checked before the season.
AC regas in Batumi: why you should not just top up the refrigerant
The circuit of a split system is sealed, and an air conditioner in good working order does not use up refrigerant for years. If it has to be regassed every spring, there is a leak somewhere. You can top up the gas and drive off, but within a few months it will escape again, and all that time the compressor will be running overloaded. That is why our AC regas service starts with diagnostics, not with a gas cylinder.
Signs of low refrigerant
- The air from the unit is barely cool.
- Cooling is weaker than last season.
- Frost appears on the pipes or service valves of the outdoor unit.
- There are oily marks on the service valves: refrigerant escapes together with the oil.
- The air conditioner was recently relocated or the pipe run was damaged.
How we regas
- We measure the pressure with gauges and the temperature of the air coming out, to make sure the problem is the refrigerant and not the control board or sensors.
- We give you the price before work begins.
- If the refrigerant is low, we find the leak with a leak detector and fix it by brazing or re-flaring the joint.
- If needed, we vacuum the system to remove air and moisture, then charge it by pressure or by weight.
- We start the air conditioner and check the pressure and cooling temperature.
Prices
A top-up with a pressure check costs from 120 ₾. A full recharge by weight with vacuuming costs from 180 ₾: it is needed after a circuit repair or if all the refrigerant has escaped. Finding and fixing a leak costs from 100 ₾, and vacuuming on its own from 60 ₾. The technician's call-out costs 50 ₾ and becomes free if the work comes to 150 ₾.
Top-up or full recharge
A top-up by pressure is done when the leak was small, has been found and fixed, and most of the gas is still in the circuit. A full recharge is needed if the circuit was opened during a repair or almost all the refrigerant has escaped. In that case the system is first vacuumed to remove air and moisture, and then exactly the amount of refrigerant stated by the manufacturer on the rating plate is charged in, controlled by weight. This way the compressor gets exactly the load it is designed for.
Which refrigerant we use
Only the one stated on the air conditioner's rating plate. In modern models this is usually R410A or R32, in older ones R22. Different refrigerants must not be mixed: the system will lose efficiency, and the compressor may fail.
Why in Batumi you should check the pressure in advance
Here an air conditioner works almost all year round: cooling in summer, heating in winter. A leak that started unnoticed turns into completely warm air from the unit by the peak of the heat. If you let out a flat and live outside Batumi, we advise you to check the pressure before the season, while there are fewer call-outs and guests have not yet arrived.
