How much does a drywall partition cost?
A partition with frame, two layers of board and sound insulation is from 55 ₾ per m², wall lining is 35 ₾ per m² and a ceiling is 45 ₾ per m². Prices are labour only, materials are extra. We give an exact estimate after a free survey.
Will I hear through the partition?
With sound insulation inside and two layers of board, normal conversation is noticeably muffled. It won't match a solid masonry wall, though — if you need real quiet, we'll suggest an upgraded build.
Does drywall cope with Batumi's humidity?
Yes, if you use moisture-resistant board in bathrooms and kitchens and waterproof under the bathroom tiles. In living rooms standard board is fine with normal ventilation.
Is it worth turning a studio into a 1+1 for renting?

If you need real quiet, for example if the partition separates a child's room or a study, we will offer a reinforced construction.

They can be hung, but only where the frame has been reinforced with noggins. That is why at the measuring visit we ask you to mark where the TV, shelves and wall-mounted kitchen cabinets will go. We fit the noggins before boarding, after which they cannot be added without opening up the wall.
Plasterboard in a humid climate
Standard board lasts a long time in living rooms if the apartment has proper ventilation. For the bathroom and kitchen we use only moisture-resistant plasterboard, and in the bathroom we also apply waterproofing over it before tiling. That way the base does not absorb moisture even with daily showers.
How installation goes
- We discuss on site where the partition will run and where boxing and recesses are needed.
- We calculate the area and materials and agree the estimate.
- We mark out the lines with a laser level and fit the studs and noggins.
- We put in the sound insulation and board the frame.
- We tape and fill the joints and take the offcuts away.
