Wall painting in Batumi: the preparation decides the result

Paint honestly shows everything underneath it. A dent from a filling knife, a poorly sanded joint or dust on the primer are almost invisible in daylight, but in the evening, when a lamp shines along the wall, every flaw casts a shadow. That is why our wall painting in Batumi is three-quarters preparation, and we hand over the work exactly that way, checking the surface with raking light.

What the price is made up of

• Primer before filling and painting: from 3 ₾ per m².

Let's work through an example. A 15 m² room with a ceiling height of about three metres comes to roughly 40 m² of wall once you subtract the window and door. Primer, filler and paint will come to about 1 320 ₾ for the labour, not counting materials. Which paint to choose

You choose the colour, and we choose the type of paint for the room. In rooms and the hallway we use washable paint: handprints by the light switch and scuffs from bags come off with a damp cloth without losing colour. For the bathroom we use moisture-resistant paint and a primer with mould protection.

A bathroom ceiling that darkens in patches is a common complaint in Batumi flats. The cause is almost always the same: steam stays in the room because the extractor fan is weak or missing. You can repaint, but without proper air exchange the patches will come back. If we see a problem with the extractor, we will tell you straight away and suggest how to fix it.

How the work goes

First we cover the floor, windows and furniture with plastic sheeting and tape the edges with masking tape. Then come primer, filler, sanding and two coats of paint, with the second coat applied only once the first has dried. At the end we remove the sheeting and take away the rubbish, so there is no need for a separate clean-up after us.

Freshening up a flat between tenants

For a rental property, painting is the cheapest way to get the flat looking like the photos in the listing again. We touch up marks left by furniture, chips around door openings and stains on the ceiling. The owner can be in another country: we agree the scope in a messenger and send you photos of the result.
