How much does water heater installation cost?
Installing a water heater up to 80 L starts from 100 ₾, 100 – 150 L from 150 ₾, old unit removal is 40 ₾. We give the total from photos before coming out; parts are agreed in advance.
Why is a water heater so important in Batumi?
Most Batumi flats have no central hot water supply; it comes from an electric water heater or a gas boiler. If the heater fails you have no hot water at all, so we come out the same day.
How often should a water heater be descaled?
Usually every one to two years, depending on the water and how hard it works. If the flat is a short-term rental and the heater runs constantly, check the anode and scale every year.
Will my wall hold a 100-litre heater?
A full 100 L tank weighs over 100 kg. We don't hang one on plasterboard without a backing — we use heavy-duty fixings into a load-bearing wall or suggest another spot.
Do I need a dedicated electrical circuit?
A powerful heater is best on its own circuit with a breaker and RCD. We check the wiring on site, and if needed our electrician runs a new line.
Water heater installation in Batumi: location, fixings and safety
Buildings in Batumi generally do not supply hot water to flats; it is heated either by a gas boiler or by an electric water heater. If there is no boiler, the water heater becomes one of the hardest-working appliances in the home, and the quality of the installation decides whether it lasts ten years or starts leaking after two. Installing a water heater in Batumi looks simple, but it has three weak points: the wall, the safety valve group and the electrical circuit.
Installation and maintenance prices
- water heater up to 80 l: from 100 ₾;
- water heater of 100 – 150 l: from 150 ₾, reinforced fixings are needed here;
- removing the old one: from 40 ₾;
- descaling: from 80 ₾;
- replacing the anode or heating element: from 60 ₾, not including the part;
- safety valve and pressure reducer: from 50 ₾.
We give you the price from photos of the location and the model before the visit. The technician brings fixings and fittings with them.
Will the wall hold it?
A full 100-litre tank weighs more than 100 kg. Plasterboard without a backing plate cannot take that load, so we do not hang large water heaters on it. The options are: heavy-duty fixings into a load-bearing wall, a metal backing frame inside the partition, or a different location. In a cramped bathroom, slim and horizontal models are the answer: they can be hung above a concealed toilet frame or right up by the ceiling.
Safety valve group
When water heats up it expands, and the pressure in the tank rises. The safety valve releases the excess, and the pressure reducer lowers the pressure from the mains supply if it fluctuates. Without this group the tank works at its limit, and the manufacturer's warranty may not apply. We fit it on every water heater, plus valves and an isolator from the mains, so the appliance can be serviced without shutting off water to the whole flat.
Electrics
A powerful water heater needs its own dedicated circuit, protected by a breaker and a residual current device. Running it through an extension lead or sharing a socket with the kettle is risky. The technician checks the condition of the wiring on site, and if there is no circuit, an electrician from our company runs one.
Limescale and the anode
The tank usually needs cleaning once every one or two years. When the property is let to guests and the water heater runs non-stop, it is better to have it checked every year. The anode takes the corrosion on itself and dissolves over time, so it is replaced along with the cleaning; otherwise the tank itself will start to rust.
