FAQ
How much does welding cost?
A welder is from 60 ₾ per hour; small repairs usually take 1 – 2 hours. Railings from 120 ₾ per metre, window grilles from 90 ₾ per m². Labour prices; metal is on the estimate.
Can you weld on site?
Yes, we bring our own welder. We need a 220 V socket near the work area.
Won't it rust by the sea?
Sea air quickly eats unprotected metal. We clean the welds, prime and paint, and for outdoor work we recommend hot-dip galvanising or powder coating.
Can you make loft-style furniture?
Yes: frames for tables, shelving, worktops and basins. A wooden or stone top can be ordered from our «Custom furniture» section.
Do I need building management approval?
For facades, balconies and shared areas, yes — and welding is noisy. We'll tell you what to agree and work within the building's hours.
Welding and metalwork in Batumi: railings, window grilles, loft frames
Metal ages faster by the sea than anywhere else. In a couple of seasons, salty, humid air turns an unpainted weld into a rusty patch that spreads along the railings and leaves streaks on the balcony tiles. That is why welding work in Batumi does not end with the weld itself: we clean, prime and paint every one in two coats. For outdoor structures we recommend even more reliable protection, hot-dip galvanising or powder coating.
What people come to us for
- Staircase railings, balcony or terrace balustrades.
- Window grilles for the ground floor.
- A frame for a worktop, a basin or a loft-style shelving unit.
- Repairs to a garden gate, a driveway gate or a canopy.
- Rust on old structures that needs cleaning back and painting over.
- Re-welding and reinforcing anything that has come loose.
Old railings covered in rust do not always have to be replaced. If the metal has not rotted right through, we clean it back to bare metal, prime it and repaint it, which costs several times less than a new structure. We cut out rotten sections and weld in new pieces.
Welding prices
A welder for small repairs and re-welding costs from 60 ₾ per hour, and a job like this usually takes 1 – 2 hours. Railings and balustrades are priced from 120 ₾ per linear metre, a window grille from 90 ₾ per m². A frame for a worktop or basin made to your dimensions starts from 150 ₾. Painting metal, including cleaning, primer and two coats of paint, costs from 15 ₾ per m². These are labour prices; metal and consumables are charged as per the estimate, or you supply your own. The final price is set after an inspection, and once agreed it does not change.
Grilles and railings: what to think about in advance
A grille on a ground-floor window protects against break-ins, but in a fire it can cut off your way out. So in a bedroom we recommend a hinged section with a lock that can be opened from the inside. For balcony balustrades in a flat where children live or visit, we keep the gap between the posts narrow so that a child cannot push their head through, and we do not fit horizontal rails that are easy to climb.
We weld on site
The welder comes with their own welding machine; all you need to provide is a 220 V socket near the work area. We fit the structure on site rather than from a drawing made by eye. This matters for balconies and stairs, where walls and steps in new builds are rarely perfectly straight. We fix everything with anchor bolts.
Loft-style furniture
A metal frame for a solid worktop, a console basin or an open shelving unit looks expensive and lasts for decades. We will weld a frame to your dimensions, and you can order a timber or stone worktop from us too, in our custom furniture section. That way the whole piece comes to you from one team and the dimensions match.
Approval from the management company
Welding is noisy and throws sparks, so work on the facade, balcony and in the common areas of a residential complex needs approval from the management company. We will tell you what needs to be approved and work around the hours when noisy work is allowed in the building.
